Laser Engraving on Plate Glass

I am having great fun engraving these 11x14 wooden frames. They are meant to be displayed in a window or on a tabletop easel. They make a great inexpensive project. I create the artwork in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The glass can be engraved on 2 sides which makes for some interesting tricks with light and reflection.

In this instance, I created the pattern on the glass from looking at a photo of a wall in a photograph taken in Iran so it would be Persian. The artwork on the frame is adapted from a library of border art from The Heritage Type Company.

Since the pattern on the glass is Persian, I focused on Persian poets for the words on the frame.

I created the Tree of Life artwork in Adobe Illustrator as well. I cut them out of birch plywood.
